Gyokuro Mikoto Organic Premium tea
Gyokuro Mikoto Organic Premium tea*
Gyokuro is a so-called shaded green tea. The tea plant is grown under the shade for approximately three weeks prior to harvest rather than in the full sun. The leaves become dark green and the tannin content is reduced, making a sweeter and less astringent tea. Gyokuro is a noble tea of the highest quality.
The tea tastes umami but also sweet. It has a fatty mouthfeel and tastes grassy with nutty tones.
In order for the tea to taste at its best, and for the savoury-sweet taste to emerge, it is of utmost importance to steep with low temperatures. Keep a maximum of 70°C, but you may want to experiment with 50°C or 60°C. A water temperature higher than 70 will make your tea bitter. Another important point is the correct steeping time. Let your tea steep for 2 minutes, 3 at the most.

Pi Lo Chun Special tea Organic
Pi Lo Chun Special tea Organic*
The name Pi Lo Chun (or Bi Luo Chun) in Chinese means "Spring Green Snail". It is one of the most prized of China's green teas. Legend tells that many years ago a tea plucker ran out of room to put her freshly plucked tea leaves, so she stuffed her cleavage
with the leaves. The warmth of her body gave out a startling aroma,
and thus the locals named the tea ‘Scary Fragrance’. The emperor Kang Xi in the seventeenth or eighteenth century thought this name unfit for such a beautiful tea and since he felt
the steeped tea looked like tiny green snails he named it like that.
Peach, plum, and apricot trees
are planted between the tea bushes. The tea leaves absorb some of the
fragrance from these fruit trees hence the special aroma and flavour. It tastes sweet, with a full mouthful and has nutty tones (chestnut).
